My name is Margareta Kankono, I was born in a village called Lindangungu in Oshana region northern Namibia. I did my primary education at Lindangungu Combined School and later went to Ongwediva where I did my secondary education at Mweshipandeka High school .
In 2011 I was admitted at the University of Namibia to do a Higher National Diploma in Agriculture, a 3 year program. While at UNAM, I was actively involved in student leadership serving as the chair person of the Ogongo Campus Choir, the secretary of Agric Society, and a hostel committee member. I graduated in 2014. I am currently furthering my studies at The University Zambia doing Bachelors in Veterinary Medicine. I am a third year student and proud to be sponsored by VAN.
During my childhood I used to spend most of my time looking after or herding domestic farm animals after school or during weekends, this triggered my interest in animals.
Due to my love for animals and the inspiration I got from vets, I decided to pursue my dream of becoming one. To not only serve animals but also humankind through innovative and sustainable agricultural practices, prevention of zoonotic diseases and providing veterinary services for pets which play an important role in human lives for companionship and security.
My hobbies include playing tennis, netball and meeting new people with inspirational characters and love.
